UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LIBRARY
The College library came into existence in 1871, when it was a Government College under Madras Presidency. Subsequently, the College was affiliated to Karnataka and Mysore Universities. In 1980, the College became affiliated to Mangalore University, In 1993, the Government College was taken over by the Mangalore University. Since then there is a remarkable improvement in the College library. The old library, which was adjacent to the present Ravindra Kala Bhavan (earlier Academy Hall), has been shifted to a new building, adjacent to the science block.
The new library building was constructed to commemorate 125 years of the College. The then Vice Chancellor of Mangalore University, Prof. M.I. Savadatti laid the foundation stone for the building on 25th January 1996. The Governor and Chancellor of the University Smt. Ramadevi inaugurated the building on 13th September 2000. Dr. G.
